Ready for Valentine's Day

We've been busy in the kitchen getting ready for the sweetest day of the year.....Valentine's Day.

We'll have special order personalized pan cookies, individually wrapped decorated cookies, and special order cakes.

Winterfest Fire & Ice 2009

We were selected as one of the locations for an ice sculpture for the weekend....this is supposed to be Winnie the Pooh. A couple of young customers commented that it looks more like Piglet!
  • I think the sculptor was a little tired by the time he got to ours....this was the third one that he had worked on. When we last checked on him it was about 8:00 pm and really cold and he still had a while to go.

There are some outstanding scultpures throughout town and I'm always in awe of what can be created out of a block of ice. For more pictures go to http://www.golakechelan.com/!2009/Jan/WFCollage/imagepages/image1.html for a collage by Richard Ulhorn. With the weather as cold as it has been the sculptures should be around for several weeks.

It's 2009 (already)!

Man...wasn't it just January 2008? Time flies when you're having fun. It seems like just yesterday that Del & I were ripping out the insides of the old Farmer's Insurance office; busting out the concrete floor, putting in cabinets, painting and putting in tile. In just two short months we'll be celebrating Blenderz' first anniversary!

We'll be closing the store for some much needed "winter maintenance" from the 11th through the 15th. We'll re-open the store just in time for Chelan's Winterfest Fire & Ice celebration on the 16th. We may even venture out of our normal "box" and have a booth at the park by the ice skating rink and snow sculptures so that folks can keep warm with some of our great hot drinks.

Here's to a great 2009 - be well and happy - and we look forward to seeing you soon.
